Feel Like You are With Family at Le Sereno in St. Barts

Le Sereno

Le Sereno

Just got back from the most fantastic trip to St. Barts! I am completely in love with Le Sereno.  General Manager, Samy Ghachem does everything possible to make each guest feel special and your stay is more like visiting a warm friend than being at a hotel. Starting with the complimentary VIP Service at the St. Martin airport and ending with your personal goodbye, every aspect of this hotel is absolute perfection.

When we landed in St. Martin, someone was waiting for us at the gate.  He took our passports to get stamped and handed us our boarding passes for the flight to St. Barts.  We got drinks in the bar while he gathered our suitcases and went through customs for us…. I never waited in one line…it was a dream. And Le Sereno provides this service free of charge!

The design of the hotel is simply breathtaking – lots of wood and natural colors with the beautiful pool overlooking the lagoon, both the same shade of vibrant blue.  Designer Christian Liaigre has created the perfect setting for couples or families. The minimalist design is simple but sophisticated and allows the natural beauty of the surroundings shine though.

The restaurant serves the most delicious granola I have ever tasted (feeling in serious withdrawal now) and the eggplant chips with tzatziki sauce are completely addicting. My son played with the hotel cat, Cookie and a large group of guests and staff even went out together dancing in Gustavia on Friday night.

I can’t think of a better place to relax and enjoy some fun in the sun.

Good Morning from the Guanahani

I moved over to the Hotel Guanahani and Spa and the view from my room is almost as nice as at the Isle de France. The private pool definitely helps!

The Hotel Guanahani is comprised of quirky cabins sprinkled along a forested hillside, heading right down to the sea. It is not uncommon to see a turtle crossing the road or to find a giant iguana on your doorstep. This hotel definitely has a more traditional Caribbean feel and a campy vibe. I am excited to see more!

Isle de France, St Barts

If you love the beach and you are heading to St Barts don’t look further than Isle de France. This boutique 39 room hotel is a collection of beach front rooms in the main building and a collection of garden bungalows, suites and villas in the back.

The best feature (aside from the incredible service and helpful staff) is the beautiful beach. The sand is so soft and gently slopes toward the sea – you have no choice but to go into the bright blue sea. And don’t forget the great lunches! Enjoy a delicious tuna tartar with your feet in the sand as you watch a fashion show displaying the gorgeous sundries from the boutique.

This is the view from my room – I could stare at this all day!

Fly Seamlessly to St Barts

I just arrived in St. Barts and it was the easiest flight of my life!

If you don’t mind small planes – this was an 8 seater – the service couldn’t have been better! I took Tradewinds into the island but that wasn’t even the best part. I landed in San Juan and a representative from Rome International met met at the gate. He took my luggage ticket and went to baggage claim to get my suitcase while I had a drink and checked emails. Then he came to get me when my flight was ready and I walked right onto the plane where I enjoyed complimentary wine. An hour later I was on the beach at my hotel.

If your travel agent offers VIP meet and greet service – take it! Or find one who does. A-hem I know a great one! 🙂
