It’s Bermuda Time!

Fairmont Hamilton Princess Infinity Pool

Fairmont Hamilton Princess Infinity Pool

It’s Bermuda time! For some reason I never think to recommend Bermuda as a weekend getaway.  But that is about to change.  It is just a 90 minute flight from New York and customs are even handled there so when you arrive back into the USA you don’t need to wait in a line. The island is friendly and clean with gorgeous beaches and incredible snorkeling and diving.  Plus some of the best golf in the world. In fact it might be better to stay for a week!

Not to mention all of the great hotels. The Fairmont Hamilton Princess has just undergone a major renovation with a new beach club and Marcus Samuelsson restaurant about to open.  And Rosewood Tucker’s Point has always been a favorite. As the weather is (hopefully) turning warmer, it is time to think about Bermuda!

The Charming Chanler: A Top Country Retreat

As one of the famous Newport Mansions, including The Breakers, The Elms, and Rosecliff, The Chanler at Cliff Walk, retains its spot as one of the best weekend getaways in Rhode Island. The first mansion turned hotel built on the Cliff Walk, this charming hotel set the precedent for the rest of the Cliff Walk properties as an idyllic country retreat location.

Just a few hours drive away from both New York and Boston, The Chanler at Cliff Walk greets its guests with a lovely display of flowers and greenery. With only 22 rooms, all individually decorated, to create “an intimate setting”The Chanler, is a favorite amongst the best Newport mansions for a relaxing break from big city living. Even in its original inception, as the summer home for Congressman John Winthrop Chanler and his wife Margaret Astor Ward, The Chanler displays a tranquil and cozy ambience that envelopes all of its guests as they stay there.

One of our agents visited this charming mansion recently and found the service at The Chanler to be “great” and a place where they “make a fuss about people”. The personalized attentiveness and care from the staff matches perfectly with the individually decorated rooms available at the property.

At The Chanleryou can choose to stay in a Manor room, an Estate room, a Signature room, an Ocean villa, or a Garden villa. Each one of The Chanler’s rooms are impeccably and uniquely decorated. We highly recommend staying at the English Trellis. One of The Chanler’s Garden Villas, the English Trellis focuses on gorgeous antiques and garden themes and enchants guests “with the double-headed shower, and a Jacuzzi outside & inside the villa”. Our agent and her guest had an absolutely wonderful time relaxing amongst the many pillows on the bed and were sure that the other rooms were just as fantastic.

Do you know what else is fantastic at The Chanler? According to our agent, the food at The Veranda, The Spiced Pear Restaurant and The Cliff Walk Terrace was “absolutely phenomenal. Every meal was superb.” The array of fresh seasonal items and fine wines added an extra breath of elegance to an already enchanting weekend.

Every day our agent awakened to an incredible atmosphere that fully replenished her peace of mind. Paired with the beach shores and the quaint shops of the Newport area, The Chanler  in all its glory is the solution to frayed nerves.

The Polished Park Hyatt Chicago

NoMi Wine Bar

As one of the top luxury hotels in Chicago, the Park Hyatt Chicago is a landmark property that perfectly captures the pillars of the Park Hyatt Chicago. With its focus on the pillars of luxury, service, food, and art, as well as the attention paid to enhance the talents and beauty of Chicago, the Park Hyatt Chicago definitely displays that it is a top Chicago hotel. It’s approachability also turns the Park Hyatt Chicago into an ideal luxury family hotel. With its special treats for children, its pet friendly policy, and its friendly and polished staff, The Park Hyatt Chicago certainly feels like a luxury home away from home.

As you step through the doorway into your Park Hyatt Chicago rooms, you are filled with a sense of comfort and quickly notice the rich textures and marble granite throughout the space. With a window bench in each room, an open concept bathroom with sliding door, and some of the best views of either Chicago’s original Water Tower or Lake Michigan, the rooms are the embodiment of cozy digs. The additions of the ergonomic Eams chairs and complimentary tablets for guest use in some rooms are great amenities available for guests.

However, the best rooms at the Park Hyatt Chicago are the suites. The Armani and Bottega Veneta suites of the Park Hyatt Chicago were specially designed by the brands to display their individual tastes. The Armani suite in particular retains an impeccable flair from the lower framed European styled bed to the full china available for tea. It also has one of the best lake views in the Chicago area.

The Park Hyatt Chicago’s 7th Floor centers on its NoMi brand. With the NoMi Spa, NoMi Garden, NoMi Lounge, and the NoMi Kitchen, everywhere you turn there is NoMi. The Spa includes a 24 hour fitness center, an intimate nail salon, and the quiet treatment rooms that are one of the only places to get a hydrofacial in a Chicago hotel. The NoMi Garden is the outdoor terraced oasis that is open for lunch and dinner. The space truly makes guests feel as though they are secluded from the crowds but surrounded with the spectacular views of Chicago skyscrapers. The NoMi Lounge, which is not usually staffed during the day is a desirable place to relax and request for a drink from the Garden or the Kitchen. Speaking of the NoMi Kitchen, it is the Park Hyatt Chicago’s main restaurant, which is almost completely open concept. Most of the food is prepped and plated right in front of the guests which makes them feel as though they are part of the cooking process. It feels similar to watching the preparation segments of “Chopped” but without the competition. The NoMi Kitchen also has spectacular views of the original Water Tower, which adds to its elegant charm.

One of the most impressive aspects of the hotel is the abundance of remarkable artworks. Drawing from the Pritzker Family’s art collection and commissions from the School of Art Institute Chicago’s student work, the presence of cultured sophistication never leaves the awareness of the guest. The lobby is the first place to begin the art tour with a centerpiece made of the moving boxes of Robert Rauschenberg as he was moving to Florida. Some love it, some do not but ultimately it draws the eye. The artistry continues with the wall of fossils found in the library off the corner of the library and the artworks in the art gallery. The art gallery is especially significant as it includes an original early sketch by Matisse and displays of Dale Chihuly Glass works, which are also found in the event spaces. Everywhere you turn in the Park Hyatt Chicago you can feel more and more how important art is to the Chicago locals. You can also feel how important it is to the Park Hyatt to connect their guests with the surrounding environment.

The Park Hyatt Chicago is one of the top luxurious yet approachable hotels in Chicago.
